Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone 7.5 to be available from Vodafone

Nokia's newly announced Lumia 800 Windows Phone smartphone will be available to UK Vodafone customers before the year's end and will come in both black and cyan colors. The Nokia Lumia 800 is the first Windows Phone 7.5 smartphone to come from Nokia and has many similarities to the company's MeeGo-powered N9 smartphone, including its single-piece polycarbonate construction. The 800 is powered by a single-core, 1.4GHz processor with 512MB of RAM and sports a 3.7-inch, WVGA resolution ClearBlack AMOLED display. Users can register for updates on the official availability of the device on Vodafone's website.

IMDb has introduced a new entertainment news app for iPhone and iPod touch users called IMDb Buzz. The new app is customizable so users can pick and manage entertainment news feeds from hundreds of sources. The app also lets users share news via Facebook, Twitter, email, and via text messaging. The free IMDb Buzz app requires Apple's OS 4.2 and above and can be downloaded now from the App Store.

Motorola DROID RAZR now available for pre-order

Motorola's latest smartphone for Verizon Wireless, the equally thin and powerful LTE-equipped Motorola DROID RAZR, is now available for pre-order. Apple awarded unlock screen gesture patent

Apple has been granted a patent on the slide to unlock gesture used in its iOS family of touchscreen devices. The patent could possibly be used to go after any number of competing touchscreen based operating systems, as its description seems to cover most any gesture based unlocking mechanism.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus Android 4.0 ICS smartphone available in Europe on November 17

Samsung has announced that the new Google Android hero smartphone, the Galaxy Nexus, will be available across Europe starting on November 17. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus smartphone offers a massive 4.65-inch, Super AMOLED HD (1280 x 720 pixel) touchscreen display and a speedy 1.2GHz dual-core processor. It is the first device to hit the market with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, the latest version of Google's mobile OS.

Sprint's Hesse gushes over iPhone data efficiency

Sprint CEO Dan Hesse is espousing the virtues of the Apple iPhone, including the phone's efficient use of data. Hands-on with Nokia's Asha line, the phones for "the next billion"

Alongside the announcement of the Lumia 800 and Lumia 710, Nokia's new line of Windows Phone 7.5 smartphones, the Finnish phone company announced a new suite of feature phones that are designed for emerging markets. Named the Asha line, the phones have specific features such as QWERTY keyboards, touchscreens, or dual-SIM capabilities. Nokia interactive kinetic tablet display demo

Nokia was showing off some concept technology at Nokia World this week, and we got treated to what is probably the most interesting of it all, a flexible device that uses kinetic motions for interaction. The tablet-like device features a large, 4-inch OLED display that can be bent at will to control the interface.
