[Leak] Motorola Corvair – Android Tablet for Your TV Room

Posted: 06 Nov 2011 04:44 PM PST

Motorola has sure been busy lately with the development of new Android tablets. A recent leak shows not only another tablet in the works, but an Android tablet/interactive TV remote combo thingy. The Motorola Corvair, as it’s being dubbed, is a 6-inch tablet designed for your TV room and apparently wants to make TV time more interesting.

Our pals over at The Verge got their hands on some leaked images and claim to know that the device is already being tested by cable providers. The packaging calls the device a “dedicated controller,” but at the same time shows the tablet’s UI on the TV screen, leading us to believe it can be used to watch and stream media all the while functioning as a universal remote. Motorola has been making cable boxes for a while now and maybe this is the ultimate way to interact with them. Who knows what other brand set top boxes this will work with – if any. This all makes perfect sense because if you will notice, there are power and volume buttons located on the front of the device. Read More…

MSN Malware App In Market and How Users Can Identify Malware Apps

Posted: 06 Nov 2011 12:09 PM PST

So you’re interested in looking for a new app, but don’t know where to go or where to start? You go to the Android Market of course where you’re free to view thousands of available apps straight from countless developers! Sadly though, Android owners must remember to take great caution when checking out apps. As great as Android’s liberal policies for apps are, the policies may be a little too loose at times, allowing for questionable and suspect malware apps to sneak onto the Market. You might remember back in August how we pointed out McAfee reported the Android OS being the most popular target for mobile malware developers. While it’s unlikely most Android users will actually be affected by an infected app, the threat of your device becoming affected is still very much a reality. Artem Russakovski of Android Police shares this threat that will certainly raise an eyebrow or two. Read on about this noteworthy discovery and how to protect yourselves from something like this after the break. Read More…

[Video] Motorola DROID RAZR Submitted to Real Life “Splash Test”

Posted: 06 Nov 2011 09:49 AM PST

So have you ever wondered what Motorola really means by saying that the DROID RAZR is “splash resistant”? Well it looks like a few brave Verizon wireless employees submitted the ol’ RAZR to their own form of splash test. Check out the video below and tell me that isn’t cool! My only questions now is what the charging port will look like in a week or two. Will corrosion eventually take hold?

Either way, the RAZR has some pretty rad specs/features and will make a great and welcomed replacement for many current handsets. I mean come on, 4G and only 7.7mm thin! Who’s getting one?

We STILL don’t have a release date for the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy Nexus but, according to a leaked Costco inventory screen they will be selling the Verizon branded device for $289.99. In the past, Costco has usually tried to undercut Big Red’s pricing so what it will be through the carrier is still a mystery. I am guessing the $299.99 price point will be in order. There is still no word if there will be an HSPA version here in the states but, you can always pay to have er’ imported!

We are getting so close now! Can you feel it?
