Verizon Extends Holiday Return Policy Yet Again, You Now Have Until January 15th Posted: 23 Nov 2011 03:41 PM PST Last week, Verizon was kind enough to extend their return policy to January 9th to accommodate those who receive a new mobile device as a Christmas gift. Now, the return policy is generally only 14 days so for Big Red to extend the window out that far is pretty generous. What’s even more friendly is the fact that they have now extended that return window even further to January 15th, adding 6 more days of trial period. This works out great for folks like me who are in need of a new phone but really want to save themselves for the Galaxy Nexus. You could now pick up a new RAZR or Rezound today, and return it as soon as the Galaxy Nexus becomes available. As long as you keep the device in fairly good condition, Verizon should have no qualms with you returning your purchase to exchange for Google’s latest masterpiece, but don’t tell them I told you so. You could even manage to deal with another short delay as long as it’s not past January 15th.

Transformer Prime Available December 9th According to GameStop Posted: 23 Nov 2011 02:36 PM PST It was back on the 8th that the ASUS Transformer Prime was officially announced and ever since then tech savvy minds have wondered when it would be released. With amazing specs and a reasonable price, ASUS assured us that not only would it be available sometime in “early December” but an ICS update would be in tow. Amazon was taking pre-orders but has since stopped taking orders, no release date is given on their website. It seems that GameStop is now too taking pre-orders, but claim to in fact have information about when the quad-core beast would be shipped, and according to them, early as December 9th. That’s not really too far away so I hope this comes to fruition, I am really looking forward to playing with one of these beasts. Has anyone placed a pre-order yet?

Madden NFL ’12 Now on Sale, Optimized for Xperia PLAY Posted: 23 Nov 2011 01:26 PM PST Thanksgiving is tomorrow and besides eating a big delicious meal I am sure many of you will get in on some football action too. Too add to the days theme, EA has discounted and optimized the popular football video game, Madden NFL ’12, for the Sony Ericsson Experia Play, and can be found in the Android Market for $2.99 instead of the original $6.99. This new pricing is available for all tablets and smartphones but is only for a limited time. I have played this game several times as it is included on various Verizon devices and I must say it’s done very well. I am usually not a big fan of sports games but the new Madden for Android is very fun and is super in depth as well. I can only imagine the experience to be that much better using the Xperia Play’s physical controls and probably somewhat resembles game play found on home consoles. I am not saying to expect a PS3 experience, but I think it would be almost as fun. Hit the link or QR code below to head to the Android Market. Another thing to note is that many more EA games are up to 40% off during its Game Feast Sale, you may want to check those out too. UPDATE: Some users are reporting incompatibility issues with the Xperia Play and other devices. EA may have had issues updating the Android Market and might take a little bit to get things squared away. Keep checking back because we heard about the optimization for the Xperia PLAY directly from EA.

Posted: 23 Nov 2011 09:09 AM PST Federal Communications Commission Chair Julius Genachowski just put a ‘not-so-fast kind sir’ on AT&T’s intentions to acquire T-Mobile. Perhaps the FCC heard the growing concerns from other carriers and decided to pursue further investigation of the deal. Genachowski recently drafted up a letter to FCC commissioners arguing “the deal would significantly diminish competition and lead to massive job losses”. Sounds like this is exactly in line with Sprint’s clear stance that was voiced earlier in the year. Not surprisingly, AT&T responded to the FCC’s actions. Senior VP of Corporate Communications Larry Solomon highlights “it is yet another example of a government agency acting to prevent billions in new investment and the creation of many thousands of new jobs at a time when the U.S. economy desperately needs both”. AT&T will not doubt review the actions and defend itself all the while trying to convince the FCC that the intended merger will be no harm, no foul. The AT&T-Mobile drama just keeps unfolding. Let’s see how
