Test Your Brain With The Revolutionizer Puzzle Game

Posted: 15 Nov 2011 05:03 PM PST

I love a good puzzle game for Android. What I love even more than that though is a puzzle game that’s free to try. The concept here is super simple: there are fruits of different colors on a wheel you can spin to match them up with a plate of the same color. Sounds pretty easy right? Well, as the game adds in more wheels to spin with more fruits on them, you’ll definitely find a good challenge here. The challenge is not only to match up all the colors, but also to match them in the least amount of moves. If I was forced to come up with some negatives about the game, I would prefer to be able to change the cartoonish looking fruit to something else. There is also only one static background for every level and no sound. Though there is nothing fancy happening here graphics wise, this also leads to the game being ultra smooth. If you’re looking for a brain twister and a good time waster, Revolutionizer should be next on your list. If you enjoy the free version you can go ahead and grab the full version with more levels for $.99. Check out the screenshots and game video after the break and let us know what you think. QR code and market link to follow as well.

Looks like we have some more info on the UK Galaxy Nexus launch dates. We already told you about how some retailers got ahead of themselves, but now we’re one step closer to confirming the phone will arrive a little later than expected. British retailer Clove expects their first batch of “SIM-free” GN phones to arrive on November 23rd. Meanwhile, Three UK had this to say about the GN availability on its Twitter page:

“For anyone who pre-ordered Galaxy Nexus y'day, due to stock delays your delivery has changed to 22/11. We'll call you by 8pm with more info”.

All in all, the release dates of the UK retailers now seem to fall in line with Big Red’s expected release date. Stay tuned and look for more updates on the release dates as we hear about them.

Motorola Working On Droid Bionic “Project”, Needs Your Help Testing It

Posted: 15 Nov 2011 12:03 PM PST

According to Motorola, “soak testing” is a thing of the past, as the company will now be using the nomenclature “project”.  In any event, we all know what it means, an update is in the works and we’ll take that with whatever name you want to give it.  Motorola seems to be on par with addressing the massive bug list we mentioned earlier this month affecting the Droid Bionic’s performance among other things.  At the beginning of November we mentioned the update was about 30-60 days out and so far we’re about 15 days in.  With any luck, Moto will nip this thing in the bud over the next 15 days and then roll it out to the masses.  Check out the email below regarding the entire update.   Read More…

Sony Ericsson Xperia Line to Get Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

Posted: 15 Nov 2011 11:36 AM PST

Sony-Ericsson has announced they intend to upgrade the “Portfolio” of Xperia devices to Android 4.0 ICS. This is a strong step in the right direction for them as many people are worried about their devices not getting Ice Cream Sandwich.

The devices listed for the upgrade are;  the Xperia arc and arc S, Xperia PLAY, Xperia  neo and neo V, Xperia  mini and mini pro, Xperia  pro, Xperia active, Xperia ray as well as the Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman.

Sony-Ericsson recently made our news buy announcing the buy out of Ericsson’s share in the company. I’m sure this announcement will ease  a lot of Xperia customers minds on their device becoming fragmented in the coming months.

Are you excited about this announcement? Tell us your thoughts in the comment section.

Sprint Announces New Data Pricing For Non-Smartphone Devices

Posted: 15 Nov 2011 09:56 AM PST

Sprint has recently decided to change their data plans for tablets and mobile broadband/hotspot in order to remain competitive with other mobile providers. It seems like Sprint has been tweaking its plans a lot lately and this new line-up has its ups and downs. All new changes went into effect today and only apply to non-smartphone devices. Smartphones will maintain unlimited data.

Sprint’s two high-tier plans offer more bandwidth than Verizon and AT&T and at a lower cost. You can get 12GB of data for $79.99 and 6GB fro $49.99. If you are simply using a tablet and want less data, you now have a 1GB option for $19.99 and 3GB plan for $34.99. The later also applies to hotspots as well.

All plans include 3G and 4G but if you go over in data you will definitely be punished for it. The Now Network is going to charge you an additional $0.25 per MB of overage, and if you manage to exceed 1GB you will have to pay a $50 penalty. Although the new pricing is really good and beats out Big Red and Ma Bell, the overage fees will definitely make you want to monitor your data usage more closely.

Jump past the break for the full low-down within Sprint’s press release.

[Review] Sprint Samsung Transform Ultra

Posted: 15 Nov 2011 09:22 AM PST

Intro

We often use terms like "budget friendly", "mid level" or even "entry level" to describe devices that tend to be "light on the wallet" and Samsung's Transform Ultra is no exception, however, this little device is packing a little more under the hood than your average little smart phone might have to offer. With features like a front facing camera and a 1 GHz Snapdragon CPU under the hood, we'd say the device is teetering towards the high end of the budget friendly spectrum.  The Samusng Transform Ultra on  Sprint is an excellent device for those looking to enter the smartphone arena with some high-end specs but not wanting to empty their savings account to be there.  The handset is a follow up to the original Transform only this bad boy comes in a thinner and lighter form factor and tosses in a mobile hotspot feature unlike other devices in its class.  In addition, under the hood you'll find a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S2 MSM8655 chip set offering fast processing speeds accompanied with Android version 2.3 Gingerbread for its flavor of the OS.  Furthermore, the device offers a slide out qwerty compact keyboard reminiscent of the Sprint Epic 4G only wrapped in a package with a 3.5-inch HVGA (320 x 480) TFT display.  Originally debuting for Boost Mobile, the device is now available on Sprints network as of Nov 13th for a mere $79.99 after a $50 mail in rebate.  Hit the break to check out the rest of the review and don't forget to let us know what you think of the device in the comments below.   Read More…
