Video: Samsung HM7000 Bluetooth headset video review

The Samsung HM7000 is a new small and light Bluetooth headset from the prolific manufacturer. It offers multi-point connections, dual-mic noise cancellation, and a carrying case/charging dock that triples the time in between charges. It also supports voice commands (which failed 100 percent of the time for me) and can be controlled with the FreeSync Android companion app. The app doesn't seem to be working all that well, though, as I could not get any of its functions to work in my tests. Sound quality on the headset was clear, though it could benefit from a boost in volume. The HM7000 is available now with a suggested retail price of $99.99.

RIM's BBX smartphones to look like the PlayBook, support BES

In an interview with PC Mag, RIM's vice president of Developer Relations and Ecosystem Development, Alex Saunders, revealed some more details about the upcoming BBX platform, which is intended to replace the again BlackBerry OS early next year. As it turns out, the first BBX phones will look more like the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet than the company's incumbent smartphones, but they will have all of the enterprise-friendly features that keep RIM's core customer base happy.

HTC brings 4.7-inch Titan to AT&T on November 20

Lovers of insanely-big screens and Windows Phone 7.5 rejoice, as HTC will bring its 4.7-inch Titan to AT&T come November 20. The Titan pairs its abnormally large display with a 1.5GHz processor and the latest in smartphone software from Microsoft. There is also an 8 megapixel camera with a 28mm wide-angle lens on the back of the phone. Curious as to how all of this performs? HTC Ville rumored to be the first Android 4.0 ICS phone with Sense

BGR has obtained some information that it claims is about HTC's first Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone with the Sense interface - Sense 4.0 to be exact. Called the Ville, the rumored smartphone is said to be powered by a dual-core processor and will debut at the Mobile World Congress trade show in February.

Google Translate for iPhone updated with more language support

Google is pushing an update for its Translate app for iPhone to the iTunes App Store that includes support for a number of new languages. The new languages supported are Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu, and the total number of languages that can be translated with the app is now 63. Google says that these new tongues are still in an alpha stage, so translations won't be as accurate or reliable as with other languages that have been supported for longer. The update is free and is expected to be available in the iTunes App Store today.

Amazon Kindle Fire to launch with "thousands" of apps, including Facebook, Netflix

The launch of the Amazon Kindle Fire tablet is less than a week away, and Amazon has announced that the 7-inch tablet will have a bevy of apps available when it hits consumers' hands on November 15. Apps that will be available include popular titles such as Facebook, Pandora, Twitter, and Netflix, along with games from EA, Gameloft, Zynga, PopCap, and others. Amazon is offering the apps through its Amazon Appstore for Android, and it promises that it has tested them for compatibility with the Kindle Fire. Amazon also says that once a user has purchased an app on their Kindle Fire, it will also be available for all of their other Android devices. The Kindle Fire will cost $199 when it goes on sale next week.

Nokia Lumia 800 set to be available November 16 SIM-Free

Rumors have been swirling that Nokia's new Lumia 800 Windows Phone smartphone would not hit store shelves SIM-free until 2012. The company itself has squashed those rumors, according to UK's PocketLint. According to Nokia, "The Nokia Lumia 800 goes on sale on the 16th of November as we stated during the launch at Nokia World. There are some rather odd stories circulating at present, it's rather flattering as it proves that there are a lot of people who believe the Lumia 800 will be a major sales item and are now trying to get it onto their shelves." According to the Finnish manufacturer, the Lumia 800 will be available in the UK both SIM-free and on-ontract with a projected availability date of November 16, as stated at Nokia World.
